For over 100 years Cheap Tiffany Jewelry and
lighting have been an essential part of a luxurious home décor. These stained
glass lamps are from the style and design of Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848 1933).
Louis Tiffany used his creative talents to follow his love for art, instead of
following in his father’s footsteps. His father, Charles Lewis Tiffany, was the
founder of the silver and jewelry firm Tiffany & Co. In the 1880′s Louis
turned his focus from his oil and watercolor works to interior design. The goal
of Tiffany’s new passion was to elevate interior design to the same level as
fine art.
Although the art of making stained glass
windows started in the 1000′s, Louis was instrumental in making windows so he
decided to use discarded pieces from his stained glass window production.
Tiffany was enamored with the smooth flowing lines and shapes in the Art
Nouveau era. He also traveled and received inspiration from glassware from
North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. A chance meeting with
Thomas Edison resulted in producing the first electric lamps for a movie
theater. This gave Louis the idea of a freestanding Tiffany lamp. With this
invention, Louis was able to bring beauty into the average home which was his
main desire. To determine if you may have authentic or original, Tiffany lamps
had either a simple number or word “FAVRILE” etched on them. Favorite means
handcrafted in the French language. Still some others were stamped with
“Tiffany Studios”. Originals also could bear the mark L.C.T. These original
Tiffany lamps are longed for the world over. In 1998 an auction sold 2 lamps
for almost 2 million each. Although these lamps were made over 120 years ago,
many are still around today because they were made so well. Chances are when
you visited your Grandmother’s home; you were awed by a Tiffany Lamp.
These manufacturers are small in number but
highly acclaimed in terms of their craftsmanship when it comes to matching the
iconic Tiffany lamp created by Louis Vuitton Fine Jewelry. Even though the designer
and his company are long gone, the legacy of Tiffany is still vibrantly alive
with the continuous production of the Tiffany lamp for new generations to enjoy
and experience the elusive yet achievable touch of Tiffany.
